The Suhaila Salimpour Institute of Online Education debuts with semester-length courses to house the School's certification program.  Students can now certify from their own locations (rather than travel).

Suhaila launches online classes for belly dance in February 2008.  These are not only the first online belly dance classes, but also one of the first online class sites of its type at the time.  The site now offers over subscribers over 1000+ hours of instruction.

Suhaila gives birth to Isabella Salimpour, the third generation of Salimpour performers and teachers.

Suhaila launches the first belly dance certification program in 1988, which still remains the most comprehensive and well-rounded program in existence, evolving in 2020 to an online institute.
